How to recover deleted photos from our library on iOS and macOS

Recover deleted photos – Many times we make mistakes when managing our files and delete things that we shouldn’t. Hurry, nerves or fatigue can play a trick on us and in the blink of an eye that amazing photograph disappears before your eyes. If this has ever happened to you, today we are going to teach you how to recover those photos that we have accidentally deleted from our photo libraries by following a few simple steps.

Recover photos from an iOS device

Apple has added a folder within our photo library called “trash” where deleted or deleted photos will remain for a period of 30 days until they are completely deleted. In the event that we want to recover them, we will simply have to select them and click on the option that says ‘Recover’ after having selected them.

Recover photos from our Mac computer (macOS)

In the event that we want to recover photos that we have recently deleted from our Mac computers, the process is somewhat different but very simple:

  • We open the Photos application from our Mac computers.
  • On the left we see a series of categories among which we find the “Recently Deleted” section
  • We go to that category and we will see all the photos that we have recently deleted. We select all the photos or videos that we want to recover, which will be marked with a blue icon in the lower right corner.
  • Once selected, we will simply have to click on the “Recover” button to return them to their original album.

As a general rule and as in iOS you have a period of 30 days to recover deleted photos, images or videos from the “trash” within the Photos application, as long as our Mac computer is not short of disk space and you may need to remove some before the deadline to ensure good performance of the equipment.
