It depends. If soy drink contains less than 6 grams of sugar per 100 grams and has sufficient calcium and vitamin B12 added, it is included in the Wheel of Five. Like other legumes, soy protein lowers LDL cholesterol, which helps keep your arteries healthy.

Is soy drink sustainable?
Soy drink has a lower environmental impact than cow’s milk, but the production does require a lot of energy, because the soybeans have to be processed and the fresh drink is cooled. The unsustainable cultivation also causes deforestation, desertification and erosion. But nowadays soy for drinks is usually sustainable (RTRS), organic or grown in Europe.
Is it dangerous to use soy drink when I am pregnant?
Soy products contain so-called isoflavones. If you take too much of this, it may affect the development of the baby’s genitals. As a precaution, the advice is to limit a high intake. If you choose to replace dairy with a plant-based alternative, do not take more than 4 glasses or bowls (of 150 ml) of soy drink / yogurt per day.
This way you ensure that you do not consume too many isoflavones. An enriched soy drink/yoghurt is also the most complete dairy substitute during pregnancy.
